Safety Assesment
What We Offer in Our In-Home Safety Review
Steps to Perform the Assessment:
Walk through each room: Take a detailed walk through each room, looking at everything from floor surfaces to lighting, furniture arrangement, and accessibility.
Check for environmental hazards: Identify and document any fall risks, tripping hazards, or safety issues that need immediate attention.
Involve the elderly person: If possible, involve the elderly person in the assessment process so they can express any concerns about their safety or comfort in their home.
Create a plan for improvement: After the assessment, make a list of changes or modifications needed to improve safety and prioritize them based on urgency.
Implement modifications: Make necessary changes, such as installing grab bars, improving lighting, removing trip hazards, or adjusting furniture placement.
Review periodically: Safety assessments should be done regularly, as conditions change, new hazards may arise, or health issues may progress.
